Think beyond traditions
Today is Valentine’s day in China.
🌹🌹
Valentine’s day is a tradition here and everywhere in the world, whatever the day is.
I have never been found of traditions. They are a kind of limiting beliefs.
We do things in a specific way because we have always done so.
I don’t mind the tradition itself, I do mind the fact that it keeps us from trying things differently and from growing.
How many times have you heard at work “I have always done like this because it works”…
Yes, sure.
But does that mean that you could not do it better and faster.
Do you still have to do it by the way?
So today’s exercise would be to list all the things you do by habit.
Ask yourself:
✅ do I really need to do this?
✅ what value does it bring to my team and myself?
✅ could it do it in another more efficient way?
✅ could I delegate this to someone else?
It might happen you find it difficult to admit you need to change your usual way of working.
Resistance to change is the most difficult thing to overcome to start being successful.
Don’t resist and put your energy into coaching instead.
