Checking with my team what they expect from me??
Shock, horror and confusion!
- Caroline, I have no idea of what my collaborators expect from me!
- Have you asked them?
- …. (*shock, horror and confusion*)
💡 The main reason why my clients would not ask their team is because they are scared of being judged, criticized and put in an uncomfortable position.
💡 Asking for reassurance would mean appearing weak, hesitant, unsure.
Clearly adjectives that don’t marry well with Leadership.
💡Or also because they consider that being a leader or a manager, they know better what to do and where to go and as such, don’t need others even questioning that “natural” talent.

That question about what your team expects from you is absolutely crucial to become a successful leader!
——————-
As a Leadership coach, you not wanting to ask that question to your team is a blessing because I am telling you now that sooner or later, you will hire me to deal with it.
Believe me, you really want to know if you are going the right direction with your team!!
If you have no clue about what your team expects from you:
❌ You will isolate yourself because your team will stop trusting and respecting you
❌ You will create misunderstandings within your team
❌ You will cause frustrations
❌ You will not perform
❌ You will get lost.
When I coach leaders who want to transition from good to great, that’s one of the first topic that they want to talk about.
With a bit of coaching, you will find solutions to meet your team’s expectations as:
✅ You become aware about strengths you didn’t know you had
✅ You understand how much courage you have within you
✅ You boost your self-confidence
✅ You communicate better
✅ You re-gain trust
✅ You perform!
So don’t wait: if you don’t feel safe enough and confident enough to ask your team what they expect from you, it’s time to have a chat with me!
