Coaching: the art of zooming in or out
“Caroline, I don’t like what you are telling me!”
- Week 1, my client: Caroline, I don’t like what you are telling me!
I had simply asked her if she was feeling more like a spectator at work rather than an actor.
Nothing brutal, a simple question triggered by a healthy curiosity about her situation.
- Week 2, my client: Actually, you were right. I am a spectator. But I want to change it. If I want to be successful, I have to get myself into gear!
That’s what coaching is about.
Helping you to see yourself from another angle.
It can be an unexpected one and make you uneasy for a short while, exactly the way my client experienced it first.
But very quickly, thinking about the session will make you see things you were not aware of at first.
Let’s say that I am your photographer and as such, I decide when to zoom in or zoom out. Then by showing you what I see in you, I give you the opportunity to see yourself differently.
It’s you but maybe it’s a part of yourself you were not aware of. Or a part of yourself you were not ready or were not allowing yourself to see yet.
Once you’ve seen yourself from these new angles, you will understand better what you are at this very moment of your life and hence, be able to take efficient actions to move towards your goals.
Concretely, coaching is:
- 45 to 60mn of your time. That’s quick.
- Remote, via Zoom or Teams. That’s convenient.
- Your topic. That’s easy.
Would you like me to call you so that we can talk about your future yourself?
